v1.0.0 Release Update

This is the default release note for the first published version. Today, WiseMindAI 1.0 officially launched.

To be honest, writing that sentence brings back a lot. It reminds me of an earlier post, Looking Back at Why I Started Building WiseMindAI, and the feeling is a bit complicated.

From the original launch (click here to read the launch post) to now, Chris has received a lot of feedback over the past year, fixed countless bugs, and even rebuilt several core modules from scratch.

For more than a month, I was developing at high intensity almost every day, just to bring it to a state that I personally felt satisfied with. Now it is finally here.

Some people may ask: if it has been live for a year, why release version 1.0 only now?

In my mind, version 1.0 means the core features are mature and stable, the experience feels coherent, the workflow is complete, and it can stand up to real-world use. The past year was more like exploring together with users: which features are truly useful, which directions were wrong, and which details still felt off. I am grateful to the early users whose feedback helped me think many things through more clearly.

Now, I think it is ready.

What WiseMindAI Is

WiseMindAI is a local-first AI workspace for learning and knowledge work. It brings modules such as Document Center, Knowledge Base, AI Workspace, Notes, Knowledge Cards, AI Exam, Learning Stats, Posters, and Infographics into one connected workflow, so material processing, knowledge accumulation, and output all happen in one place.

WiseMindAI v1.0.0 Update

WiseMindAI is built to help you turn "collecting materials" into "actually learning them".

Many people know this feeling: bookmarks are overflowing, PDF folders are piled up, note-taking apps are packed, yet very little of that knowledge ever gets revisited in a meaningful way.

Collecting has never been the real problem. Digesting is. The entire design of WiseMindAI revolves around this chain:

Knowledge collection -> Knowledge accumulation -> Knowledge processing -> Knowledge review and output

Next, Chris will walk through the core features of WiseMindAI so new users can quickly understand what it does.

Model Support

WiseMindAI supports 20+ major model providers with flexible configuration, including OpenAI, Gemini, Ollama, Zhipu AI, DeepSeek, Doubao, and many more.

You can mix different model capabilities for different tasks, making summarization, Q&A, recognition, image generation, and other scenarios much more flexible, while also giving users more control over quality, cost, and usage habits.

It fully supports local Ollama models, so all features can be used in a fully local setup:

Core Features

Here is a closer look:

1. Document Center

The Document Center is the core feature of WiseMindAI. You can bring in PDFs, Word files, web links, images, and even audio or video materials, manage them in one place, and then continue summarizing, asking questions, taking notes, generating knowledge cards, creating exams, and producing shareable content so that every piece of material is actually put to use.

2. AI Knowledge Base

If the Document Center manages individual materials, then the AI Knowledge Base manages topics. You can group documents, notes, and links under the same topic, then run cross-material summaries, unified Q&A, and focused learning. It is better suited for topic-based study, systematic research, and long-term accumulation.

3. AI Notes

WiseMindAI does not just help you "understand" something. It also helps you "save it." It can turn document summaries, web content, and high-quality AI answers into notes with one click, then let you keep organizing, rewriting, expanding, compressing, and polishing them so scattered information gradually becomes your own knowledge asset.

4. Knowledge Card Sets

Knowledge Card Sets break long content into small cards you can practice and review, so learning no longer stops at "I looked at it once." The focus is real mastery: break knowledge into smaller units, practice repeatedly, recall continuously, and gradually build your own knowledge map through feedback.

5. AI Exam

After learning, the most important thing is testing how much you actually understand. AI Exam can automatically generate exam papers from documents, knowledge bases, knowledge card sets, or even content you enter manually, then provide analysis reports, weakness reminders, and improvement suggestions, helping you complete the loop of "learn, test, improve."

6. Study Plans and Tasks

WiseMindAI does not only help you organize knowledge. It also helps you plan what to study, when to study it, and what to do first.

WiseMindAI supports generating study plans, managing daily tasks, and pinning priority items. It can also adjust plans intelligently based on actual progress and combine them with recurring reminders, reducing the problem of plans getting messy and tasks piling up. So you not only have material to study, but a clearer way to keep moving forward.

7. Learning Stats

WiseMindAI does not just record what you studied. It also shows how your learning is going. It continuously tracks material processing, review rhythm, exam performance, note output, and poster creation, turning your learning state from a vague feeling into visible trends that help users adjust their pace more clearly.

8. Poster Sharing

Knowledge should not stay trapped inside your computer. WiseMindAI can quickly turn notes, summaries, knowledge-base conclusions, and AI answers into posters, with support for templates, further editing, and export for sharing, making learning outcomes easier to express, easier to present, and easier to spread.

9. Backup and Sync

What truly matters is not a single answer, but the knowledge assets accumulated over time. WiseMindAI supports local backup, automatic backup, cloud backup, and one-click restore, so when you switch devices, reinstall your system, or work across multiple endpoints, your accumulated materials, notes, and output are much less likely to be lost.

10. Open Interfaces and External Integrations

WiseMindAI is not just a standalone app. It can also fit into your daily workflow. It works with browser clipping, external AI tools, Notion, Feishu, Flomo, and other platforms, making material collection, note accumulation, and content publishing smoother while reducing the need to move things back and forth between tools.

  • Browser extension clipper: helps you quickly save web content into WiseMindAI. It supports saving links, notes, and knowledge cards, making your knowledge collection much more efficient and convenient. You can read more in the documentation here: https://wisemindai.app/en/guide/browser-extension

Local-First Matters

WiseMindAI stores your data locally by default. It supports WebDAV, Jianguoyun backup, and scheduled automatic backups. Chris strongly believes this is how a knowledge tool should work.

Your research notes, study records, and thinking process are deeply personal. They should remain in your hands. I have seen too many tools shut down suddenly or raise prices sharply, leaving user data locked inside with no easy way out.

In WiseMindAI, you can even use only local Ollama models for document summarization, chat, knowledge card generation, and more.

Local-first is a basic form of respect for user data.

Who WiseMindAI Is For

If you are one of the following types of users, WiseMindAI may be worth trying:

  • Students preparing for exams or working on research topics: you have too much material, scattered notes, and trouble remembering what you learned. You need a tool that helps you move from "I saw it" to "I truly know it."
  • Professionals handling large amounts of documents every day: reports, articles, and meeting notes get read again and again, but rarely turn into something reusable. You need a way to turn information into knowledge you can use at any time.
  • People researching one field over the long term: you need cross-material organization, systematic Q&A, and long-term accumulation, not just fragmented collections.
  • Creators who rely on content for work: you have piles of source material and no time to sort it out. You want to extract viewpoints and produce output quickly from a large amount of information.
  • People who do not want their data stored on someone else's servers: notes, research, and thinking records are personal, and you want to keep them under your own control.

Final Thoughts

When I released the first version a year ago, I was honestly pretty uneasy. The feature set was incomplete, the experience was rough, and many things were still more idea than implementation. This past year has been about making it solid.

During the last month of intense development, there were several nights when I was still staring at a tiny interaction detail deep into the early morning, trying to make it better. Not because I wanted to rush, but because I wanted this version to truly deserve the label "1.0 official release."

Now, WiseMindAI 1.0 is officially in your hands.

If you try it and have any thoughts, whether it feels great or something feels awkward, I would love to hear from you. This tool will keep evolving, and I will keep sharing more videos along the way.

A good knowledge workspace should make you feel clearer over time, not more anxious.

I hope WiseMindAI 1.0 becomes the one you can truly rely on.
