Backup and Sync is designed to protect WiseMindAI's long-term knowledge assets. You can back up both settings and business data to a local folder or the cloud, then restore them quickly when changing computers, reinstalling the system, or working across multiple devices.

📦 What Gets Backed Up

1. User Settings

This includes language, theme, shortcuts, model configuration, document settings, note settings, plugin configuration, translation settings, and more.

2. User Data

This includes documents, notes, knowledge bases, knowledge cards, chat history, posters, search history, and other business data.

In simple terms: one restore should bring you back as close as possible to your original working state.

📖 How To Use It

Local Backup

1. Open WiseMindAI Settings
2. Go to "Data Sync"
3. Click "Backup Now"
4. Choose the save location
5. Wait for the backup to finish

Automatic Backup

After enabling automatic backup in "Data Sync", you can continue setting:

• backup interval
• backup save path
• maximum number of backups to keep
• whether to run backup automatically when closing the app

Cloud Backup

The main supported methods are:

1. WebDAV
2. Nutstore

After configuration, it is recommended to click "Test Connection" first. Once it works, then enable automatic backup.

Restore Data

1. Go to "Data Sync"
2. Click "Restore Data"
3. Choose whether to restore from local or cloud
4. Select the backup file or backup source
5. Confirm restore
6. Wait until it finishes and restart the app

📝 Notes

• Restoring will overwrite current data, so it is best to back up your current state before restoring
• Cloud backup depends on network stability, so failures may happen on unstable connections
• Backup files may be large, so make sure local space or cloud quota is sufficient
• Nutstore requires an app password, not the regular login password
• It is best to restore with a compatible version to avoid problems across versions

🌈 Recommended Usage

1. Daily Backup

Enable automatic backup, for example every 24 hours, and keep 5 to 10 historical versions.

2. Device Migration

Create a backup on the old device first, then restore it on the new device to get back to your previous setup faster.

3. Recover When Something Goes Wrong

If data becomes abnormal, is deleted by mistake, or needs to be rolled back, restore from the latest available backup directly.

• It is recommended to restore with the same or compatible version
• Cross-version restore may have issues
• Check if functions are normal after restore

6. Nutstore Application Password

When using Nutstore backup, you must use an application password (not login password):

• Application password is generated in Nutstore web version
• Each application password can only be used for one application
• Application password can be revoked at any time
